Prokecteka Association implemented a project under the PROGRAM FOR THE SUPPORT OF NGOS IN BULGARIA ON THE FINANCIAL MECHANISM OF THE EEA 2009 - 2014. (So-called "Norwegian financial mechanism") with the name "Mission: I want to know, I Want to be" with number BG05/984.
The idea of the project was young people to become acquainted with the Western European model of civil participation. Young people, who are not aware where they may find information about their rights and are not familiar with the positive sides of volunteering, do not have the possibility to actively contribute to the development of the society as a whole. The purpose of the project was through acquaintance of the principles of volunteering, for which there is not enough information in Bulgaria, to enable young people to learn more about their rights as European citizens; to adopt new skills through voluntary practices and to transmit the learnings to their peers. The specific objective of the project is to provide information to the students about what are volunteering and the creation of a network in social media by which they may obtain exchange and updated information on the voluntary practices and civil rights. The project contributed to the resolution of the problem by training 25 young people from а number of high schools in the capital Sofia how to seek information related to the main civil rights and the opportunities offered by the society and by engaging in voluntary practices. The target group of the project was students aged from 14 to 18 years. The project is implemented in partnership with 119 Secondary School "Academician Mihail Arnaudov" – Sofia.
